As a person with a visual impairment, I have been a strong advocate for people with disabilities and strong supporter of the Americans with Disabilities Act. It is for these reasons that I founded American Disabilities Consultants, Inc. in 2000. ADC has worked with government entities and private businesses to ensure that their programs, services and activities are accessible to the entire community.
Most business owners feel that their facility is in compliance with the ADA. However, in some cases, this may not be true and business owners are finding this out due to a group that is going around filing ADA lawsuits. This is happening to small businesses and large box stores. ADC has worked with a number of these business in truly assessing any ADA deficiencies.
